plan a service project.

Service projects are a great way for school groups, clubs, Scouts, and businesses to support our Veterans in a hands-on way. We want your project to be as impactful as possible, both to you and to its recipients. Please feel free to contact us with your ideas and we will help you develop a project that aligns with your goals, scope, and time frame.

Below is a list of ideas that serve VCP all year around:

Host a Snack Bag Packing Party.

Using the Wish List, collect and assemble snacks to feed hungry Veterans. Please pack 5 items from each category (protein, carbohydrates, and fruit/vegetables), along with a napkin and plastic utensils, in a gallon-size Ziploc bag. VCP will supply a nylon drawstring bag for the Veteran to keep. Depending on the size of your group, packing parties may be held on-site at VCP.

Help Beautify the Village.

Trees, shrubs, and flowers help make our village feel more like a neighborhood. We are grateful for donations of plants (and labor!). In Spring 2020, we will be developing a green space that includes a walking trail and community garden. Great opportunity for Scout projects!

Collect New Socks.

Protected, dry feet are important all year around. During the winter months in particular, VCP distributes socks at our Outreach Center and to Veterans in area homeless camps.

Collect Coins to Purchase a Tribute Brick.

A custom brick paver in VCP's Tribute Garden is a wonderful way to celebrate a Veteran or leave a lasting reminder of your group's support of our troops. Schools, churches, and Scout troops often place inspiring messages on their pavers, sharing their gratitude for all who visit.
