- Ladies Night In -

Across the United States, female Veterans are the fastest growing segment of the homeless Veteran population.

Approximately 10% of the residents in VCP Village are women; those with children live in one of our "tiny" family homes.

VCP case manager Erin Ressigieu suggested we host a special MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) event for our female Veterans. We shared her idea on social media and the community's response was overwhelming.

"Ladies Night In" featured a catered dinner by The Mixx, a gourmet coffee bar by Starbucks, manicures and hair styling by Beauty Brands, a make-up bar by Mary Kay, and a DIY bouquet station with flowers provided by Trader Joe's and Hy-Vee.

The Veterans also received a gift bag full of luxurious self-care items, a beautiful wood serving tray crafted by one of our male residents, and a $100 gift card to T.J. Maxx.

Thank you to everyone who donated funds and services to make our Veterans feel so special.
