Each year, on a chilly night in late January, communities across the United States conduct a Point-in-Time (PIT) count to assess the extent of homelessness at a given moment.
For Veterans, the PIT count provides a snapshot of the number of former service members who are currently without stable housing. This count includes those sleeping on the streets, staying in shelters or places not meant for human habitation.
This year, 2386 Veterans were identified in our four VCP communities: Kansas City, Longmont, Sioux Falls, and St. Louis.
On Giving Tuesday, we are on a mission to make a tangible impact on the lives of Veterans facing the harsh realities of homelessness in our communities. The number 2386 represents more than just a statistic; it embodies individuals, each with unique stories and struggles.
